Through the eyes of Ankit Goyal : An Undergraduate   Student

    Hi,

Here’s a small riddle… What do you get when you mix the most dynamic police officer, a bunch of highly motivated individuals, slum children in need of direction and focus and tons of love, affection and commitment??? Think…… Give up? U get Navjyoti and India Vision Foundation, two fabulous NGO’s making a difference in the lives of  7500 children a day.

I’m Ankit Goyal, an undergraduate student studying psychology at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. This summer I got a wonderful opportunity to do a week’s internship with Dr. Kiran Bedi and her two NGO’s(Navjyoti and IVF).

I spent a day at various projects of the NGO’s including Slum’s ‘Gali’/Street schools and the Village project. It has been nothing less than a life changing experience (and I’m not exaggerating). I went around capturing each project in my camera. These NGO’s are one of their kind. The sense of determination, seriousness, love, care and focus that I’ve witnessed in this week has had a huge impact on me!

It has been a beautiful journey… one that’ll always be a part of me.

I have made a gallery of some of the pictures which you can view by clicking here – Galleria .There are two reports also which you can view here – Reports .

Often we want to reach out to the people in need and make our own lives more meaningful but do not know how and where to. Well this is your opportunity. If you want to help, in any way or even want to just talk to me about my experience or about any of yours then feel free to contact me on ankit_ivf@rediffmail.com!
