Decline in Crime
( New Delhi, 6 July 1981)
Mrs. Kiran Bedi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West District) today claimed a 45% decline in
crime as compared to last year. In a separate press note issued today, Mrs. Bedi claimed that this
had been made possible by strict adherence to integrated systems of crime control,
effective uses of legal powers under the Police Commissioner system and the public cooperation.
The note claimed that
the West District police was carrying out an intensive drive to trace proclaimed offenders
and history sheeters.
