resign in protest over this decision of the govt? among how many will be
the "heroic idiots" who still believe in truth and integrity? you will
have your answer. understand you are alone but never lonely. you have
a very small community of people who think and act like you. you are
the richer for it.
please ignore this promotion. please carry on as before as i need you
to preserve my belief in woman, in truth, in ethics, in compassion, in

and can understand why you are upset at being superceded. The Govt upheld
the seniority principle when they made Air Marshal Fali Major the Air
Force Chief though he has no experience on fighters, yet chose to
ignore both your seniority and competence. All I can say is ....don't be in
a hurry to take your next step but don't take it lying down either.
You would recall we met in NY(UN HQs) when you had just joined as
CivPol Adviser in Jan 2003, I was then the Chief of Staff of the UN Mission
in Kuwait-Iraq, we later met in Aug 2004 in NY when you mentioned that
you would not copmplete your tenure with the UN as you wanted to be in
Delhi when the next Police Commissioner was to be selected and you
wanted to be in the system so that you would be considered. Sadly, that you
have been superceded, but as I said...don't take it lying down. Best
