Hello Kiran, 

My name is Jawahar, my friends call me jawi. I am 43 years old and live

 in Chennai with my wife Vidhya and daughter 

Priyaanka. I hope you don't mind me calling you by first name. I have

 taken this liberty as you don't seem to be 

such a formal person as to expect a "Madam" or a "Mrs" prefixed before

 your name. The first time i saw you was on TV for a new year program

 where you had come wearing a traditional Rajasthani costume. By then you

 had already become (in?) famous for the episode in Delhi when you towed

 away a car from a no-parking zone. Rumour has it that it was a car

 belonging to Mrs. Indira Gandhi's entourage and that you were punished by

 a transfer. I was very much impressed by the story (I still don't know

 how much of it was the truth) and have remained a fan of yours ever

 since. While i have never bothered to exhaustively track each and every

 thing you have ever done, my ears do tend to prick up whenever you appear

 on TV!

Stories aside, I am very disturbed by the recent turn of events in your

 life. I can relate better to you as right now i am going through

 exactly the same situation. I have not been attending my business because of

 my dad's hypocrisy. It is a little over three months now that i have

 not been going and i feel utterly miserable. Other than the fact that my

 business is the love of my life, it is very difficult without my

 salary. Right now we are living off my wife's salary. 

But let me come to the main reason for writing to you. It is my opinion

 that for an experienced, intelligent, 

wonderful person like you it shouldn't be very difficult to find better

 offers in the private industry. Of course, i 

understand the principle involved, if you back off it means defeat. But

 who do you have to prove yourself to at this 

stage? They are simply not worth it. The very same people who have

 worked behind your back will come back with 

congratulations and oily smiles if you are re-instated back to a

 position you desire. They will continue their back 

stabbing the next minute after congratulating you. No one really cares

 Kiran.The Kiran Bedi's of this world are a very rare species and as

 such cannot be wasted fighting a corrupt system from the within. 

I feel you can do more good outside the system than inside it. What

 stops you from fighting against the same rot in 

the system from the outside? At least you will not be bound by the

 system if you fight it from the outside. Having 

been an insider, you must be privy to all their dirty tricks and when

 you aim and shoot from this vantage point, a 

Bull's Eye is assured every time you shoot. Imagine, not having any

 senior boss calling you and telling you what to 

do and what not to do. It is people of the highest calibre that we need

 to run things in this country - you definitely qualify. 

I am not asking you to enter politics, that would be like jumping from

 the muddy bank into the sewer. I am suggesting that you lead an organisation

 that is fighting for human rights. The Bull's Eye and your shooting talents 

could be discussed once again at this point, but i won't bore you with

 repetition.

Please treat this as the humble suggestion of a fan, forgive me if i

have unintentionally said something wrong.
