a son. Originally from West Bengal, I came to Delhi in 1986 and am residing in one of its
largest slums since then.

My name is Geeta, aged 27 years and a mother of two, a son and a daughter. I originally
come from a village in western U.P. I married Kamal ten years ago and we shifted to
Delhi. People move to the cities in order to make it big; we left everything back home
in order to survive. Survival at the cost of losing everything except my children is
what I finally got.

I am Peter Camus, aged 70 years, from Germany, and now permanently settled in India. I first
came to India around 19 years ago as a tourist. Having lead a purposeful and comfortable life
back home, I decided to stay in India to help the poor. I am a social and health worker,
though the destitutes who I offer medication call me a Doctor. I have a roadside open-air
clinic at a posh central market in the capital city, with a chair and two bags of medicines as
infrastructure. I do not charge any fee as my patients are roadside beggars, lepers and drug
addicts. The pension I receive monthly from Berlin
funds my living, my clinic and the medicines.

38 years. I originally come from Iran and have been living in Delhi as a refugee for the last
10 years having migrated from my country in order to save my life.

30 years, living in one of the slums of Delhi with my second husband and four children.
Originally coming from the western part of Uttar Pradesh, I am living in Delhi for the last 15
years now.
